RICH MCCUE

After 2 weeks away we are finally back!!

Today we had a special guest names Rich McCue come into our class for a presentation. He taught us a lot about multi media learning theory as well as Screen casting. We mostly went through how to use screen casting in todays class and even got to make our own. I definitely had a few struggles with mine but I managed to create a little video here and even got some editing in. It is not the most educational video but I am excited to keep playing around with screen casting for educational purposes now that I am able to figure it our I decided to play fire boy and water girl (one of my favourite computer games) for this video but I ended up talking to someone through the video so it pauses for a bit and then I tried to get back into it and died… sooooo this is a video of me failing this level but I thought it would be sorta funny to see anyways! I really enjoyed doing this even though it took a long time. Rich was super accommodating and IM so glad he was able to walk us through it while also giving us a lot of different uses for screen casting. It can be super helpful if you want to give demos to your kids and send them home or just have a video of you doing something while you explain it to your students. Khan Academy uses screen casting for their videos and it is so great to watch and to see that they can put so much detail while doing a voice over top. It is great to keep building these resources and I am so thankful Rich was able to join us today!
