Another week, another reflection. This week we talked about AI and how to use Chat GPT. There is so much controversy on Chat GPT but I think if you use it in the right way and are ethical about it, it can be such a great resource especially for teachers. We talked a lot about the different uses of chat GPT and how for teaching it can create lesson plans or explain topics even further. It is always a good idea to cite Chat GPT and not to pretend like these ideas were your own. Michael got us to then play around with it and see what it would come up with when we asked it certain things. Everyone had such great questions and few funny ones as well. I chose it to ask it to “write me a menu for 4 people”. Even with such a broad topic it gave me tons of ideas and said this :
Certainly! Here’s a sample menu for four people, featuring a variety of courses:
Appetizers:
- Caprese Salad:
- Fresh mozzarella, ripe tomatoes, and basil drizzled with balsamic glaze.
- Stuffed Mushrooms:
- Mushrooms filled with a savory mixture of cream cheese, garlic, and herbs.
- Shrimp Cocktail:
- Chilled shrimp served with cocktail sauce and lemon wedges.
Main Courses: 4. Grilled Steak:
- Juicy grilled ribeye steaks seasoned with a blend of herbs and spices.
- Lemon Herb Roasted Chicken:
- Chicken breasts roasted with lemon, garlic, and fresh herbs.
- Vegetarian Stuffed Bell Peppers:
- Bell peppers stuffed with a mix of quinoa, black beans, corn, and spices.
- Sides:
- Garlic Mashed Potatoes
- Steamed Asparagus with a hint of butter and lemon.
Desserts: 8. Chocolate Fondue:
- Melted chocolate served with an assortment of fruits and marshmallows for dipping.
- New York Cheesecake:
- Creamy cheesecake topped with fresh berries and a raspberry sauce.
Beverages: 10. Red and White Wine: – Choose a red and white wine to complement the meal. 11. Sparkling Water: – Carbonated water with a slice of lemon or lime. 12. Coffee and Tea: – Freshly brewed coffee and a selection of tea.
Feel free to adjust the menu based on your preferences and dietary restrictions. Enjoy your meal!
I asked it for less options and tried to narrow it down a bit. Overall it was so awesome to see that it can be so easy to ask it anything. I sometimes use to to help explain certain things to me. For examples I was a bit confused about an assignment in music class so I put the topic in and asked it to explain it to me as if i were in the 5th grade. Did I need it to be that young of an explanation? No but I enjoyed seeing what it had to say and it helped a ton. I think Chat GPT is a great tool if used ethically and to always cite it. I can’t wait to use it more for exciting things such as a menu.
See you next week!
